Dwelling Fire - 52 Marion Rd. West
Thursday, January, 8 2009 - PFD was dispatched to a reported dryer fire. The first arriving deputy chief reported nothing showing from the exterior. After further investigation the deputy chief reported fire in the lower level of the split level single family home. Shortly after smoke began to show from all sides of the dwelling. A first alarm was transmitted. The fire progressed rapidly through the dwelling making conditions tough for firefighters to contain the fire. A second alarm was transmitted, crews were ordered to evacuate the dwelling and set up for a defensive attack. Demolition equipment was eventually requested to allow firefighters to access pockets of fire below the mid floor. Companies started taking up after midnight.
